ELC, as an official test centre for the Occupational English Test (OET), was honoured and delighted to host a presentation by Mr Tom Keenan, OET’s Regional Director for the Asia Pacific Region, based in Melbourne Australia. The OET is the premier test of English for medical professionals around the world and, according to Tom is now demonstrating growing acceptance in the USA and Canada.

Whilst the OET is increasingly seen as a ‘right-of-passage’ for medical professionals who aspire to increase their mobility between English speaking countries, preparing for it can also contribute meaningfully towards better communication in the everyday medical workplace.

Mr Keenan provided an illustrated overview of the OET exam format, and some tips for registration and preparation to potential candidates; doctors, nurses, and pharmacists, together with a number of parties who joined the event online.
