A Melting Pot of Cultures in Our Campus

ELC Malaysia has been welcoming students from over 30 different countries, creating a truly diverse and enriching learning environment. Interacting with peers from different backgrounds helps students develop cultural awareness, improve English fluency, and build confidence. Diversity benefits all students, enhancing their experience in many ways:

  • Space to learn - Comfortable student common spaces provide the perfect places to connect and practice speaking English, while study areas offer quiet learning, reading, or relaxing environments.
  • Exceptional teachers - Our teachers are native English speakers with specialist English teaching qualifications and experience in exam preparation.
  • English only environment - Lessons are all in English, enhancing every learner’s language acquisition, improving their fluency and building their confidence in English.
  • Cross-cultural experience - Opening every student’s eyes to other cultures, broadening their perspectives, and helping them become true global citizens.
  • Immersive Malaysian experiences - Students take part in our extra-curricular activities to explore Kuala Lumpur and its surroundings, and learn about the local way of life, thus enriching their experience in Malaysia.

Meet Our UOWM Campus Students

We caught up with

Ms Wu Xiang Qin, (Piano)

from China about her experience with ELC at UOWM Campus.

What do you like the most about Malaysia and your stay here?

The culture is very different from China although I don’t know much about it. But I’m slowly learning as I spend my time here in Malaysia. Other than that, I think the buildings here in Malaysia are very interesting. I especially like the library at the university.

How did you find ELC?

I found out about ELC through the university. Someone recommended it to me as I need preparatory English classes before continuing my main program at the university. I also want to take the IELTS soon.

What do you think about ELC school and teachers?

I had the experience of learning from different teachers while I was in ELC. Different teachers taught different styles. I think it's good because I can learn in a different way

What are your plans after studying at ELC?

I plan to continue improving my English even after I finish my course. After that, I will continue studying Accountancy at UOW. I would like to try many new things in the future while I still have time in Malaysia.

Any special stories about your stay that you would like to share?

I made a lot of friends while I was studying in ELC. I made a friend from Saudi Arabia and we have a good friendship. I often talk to her.

Our Students’ Activities

Discovering the joy of Pickleball
Our students had a blast during our recent pickleball outing. Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports worldwide. It’s a fun mix of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong, it’s easy to learn and perfect for our students. A casual game, some friendly competition; pickleball was a great way to stay active and socialize.
