Celebrating Malaysia’s Progress and Global Recognition

As we look back on August and September, months filled with the national celebrations of Merdeka Day (31 August) and Malaysia Day (16 September), we are reminded of how far we have come as a nation. These occasions not only strengthen our pride as Malaysians but also highlight the remarkable progress our country continues to achieve in both economic growth and structural development.

A recent milestone worth celebrating is Kuala Lumpur’s placement as 12th in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Best Student Cities 2026 Rankings. This global ranking evaluates urban destinations for international students across six key categories: university rankings, student mix, desirability, employer activity, affordability, and student voice.

Over the past few years, Malaysia has positioned itself as a hub of excellence across both STEM and non-STEM fields. Kuala Lumpur’s standing as a global student city has been reinforced by the nation’s strong education ecosystem—English-medium instruction, internationally benchmarked programmes, competitive tuition fees, affordable living costs, and ongoing investment in world-class campuses and facilities. Together, these factors have made Malaysia an increasingly attractive destination for learners from around the world.

At ELC Malaysia, we are proud to contribute to this growing reputation. Our courses provide international students with a valuable stepping stone toward university life in Malaysia, or elsewhere.

The event offered them a meaningful opportunity to appreciate Malaysia’s diverse heritage through traditional performances, local delicacies, and cultural showcases. It was a day filled with learning, discovery, and national pride.
