The Republic of Korea

I started studying English because I wanted to; and after retiring, I thought it would be helpful for when I teach Korean to foreigners. I began because I enjoyed it but I also had the purpose of traveling. I come here because I wanted to speak English properly, and I wanted to be able to communicate with people from any country. I made an effort to get along well with my classmates. I believe that age and background don't matter.

I'm 63 years old, and I taught Korean language to high school students in South Korea for 30 years. After retiring in 2025, I taught Korean to immigrant women, and I plan to continue teaching this year as well. My colleague wanted to spend a month living in Malaysia. While looking into it, she learnt about this place through a Korean student who had studied at ELC. I came here through my colleague's introduction. The most enjoyable part was meeting people from other countries and having conversation in English. I like that class time included opportunities to speak a lot. The activities were also a great part of the program, though I regret not being able to attend them because of my personal travel plans. I wanted to spend a month living in an English speaking country, and it was rewarding because I could study English as well, not just travel. After completing the course, I'll go to Singapore and use the English I learned while traveling for four days before returning to Korea. Since I learnt it. I have to practice, right? I don't want to give up because of my age. This was also a dream of mine after retirement, so I feel like I have achieved it. If I have the opportunity, I would love to come again. I would like to sincerely thank all the staff at ELC for their kindness and for making my one month stay so comfortable. I also wish all the classmates I met at ELC success in achieving their dreams and hope they will fulfill them.
